Facebook has launched for Russian users a new service "Places"
Popular social networking site Facebook for Russian users geolocation launched a service called "Places»(« Places »). This is stated in the official press release, which was received by the Editor "Lenta.ru".
Service "Places" gives an opportunity to connect its users to coordinate their intentions and actions with their friends by putting a special mark of cafes, clubs, concert hall or some other institution which they plan to visit. Moreover, each user can mark in the place which he had once visited, as well as leave their impressions on this visit.
In addition, the user has an opportunity to celebrate themselves, as by default it can be noted and friends who are also going to visit some selected location. If the user does not want to be distinguished from other users, it will be able to put a ban on the mark themselves in some particular place, as well as control marker of friends or some specific.
In addition, the new service "Places" can be used for various collective discounts, and favorable trading proposals - such as, for example, bonuses for re-visiting some particular place.
At the moment, the largest in RuNet service collective discounts owned subsidiary Groupon. In February 2011 the service has been integrated into another social network - "classmates" as a supplement entitled "Class discounts", which is on the same principle as the "Places" is tied to a specific geographic location of each user.
Recall that Facebook is by far the most popular social network in the world, in which approximately 600 million registered user accounts. As for the Russian audience network Facebook, then, according to figures at the end of 2010, it has about 7 million people.
